Mini-Update: MPC Feedback, Updated Timeline.
š MPC (Manufacturer Production Copy) Feedback
This part of the process is always exciting and terrifying in equal measure. We received MPCs (Manufacturer Production Copies) from Gameland yesterday - a few days later than they predicted. We spent the afternoon examining everything in microscopic detail, and while the vast majority of the components were spot-on, we identified a few areas that need to be addressed and ultimately,Ā we werenāt able to approve the MPCs.Ā Ā
We sent a detailed report to Gameland late yesterday evening so that they could review our feedback during the UK night-time; this allowed us to have a video call with the production team first thing this morning, discuss each item and agree on a plan of action.Ā Everything we flagged this morning is already being addressed, but this will take time and as a result shipping and fulfilment will unfortunately need to be pushed back. We know this isn't what you were hoping to hear (we share your disappointment!), but we will always choose quality over speed; we're committed to creating the best productĀ possible and weāre not going to settle for sending you anything other than that.
ā Updated Timeline
Gameland have estimated that rectifying these issues and getting another MPC to us will takeĀ 3-4 weeks. With the holidays looming and congested shipping routes at this time of year,Ā at this stage itās hard to say exactly when games will arrive in each region. Thereās a chance that some backers in AsiaĀ mightĀ receive their copies this year (as these will be shipped āoverlandā, rather than via sea freight) butĀ itās looking likely that most backers will receive their pledges in earlyĀ 2026.
As backers of projects ourselves, we understand that these delays can be frustrating. We promise that weāre doing everything we can to get your games to you. Over the next couple of weeks, weāll have a better idea of timescale and weāll continue to keep you as up to date as we possibly can; in the meantime we really, really appreciate your patience.Ā
š It's Not all Doom and Gloom!
When youāre looking for problems, itās really easy to overlook all of the things that are wonderful, so hereās a rundown of whatĀ excitedĀ us about the MPCs!
š Punchboard Delamination Fixed
In the last update, we discussed the punchboard issues we had come across in the copy provided to us at Essen. We're very happy to report that there wasĀ no evidence of peeling in the copies that we received yesterday, so we wonāt be needing to reprint 150,000 punchboards. Thank goodness!
⨠Foiled Boss Cards
Weāre absolutely thrilled with how the foiled boss cards turned out. Opening the boss card deckĀ feels like opening the best trading card pack ever; every card is a shiny! They have a very nostalgic āTeam Rocket PokĆ©mon cardā vibe, and they look fantastic stored inside the Boss Boxes.
š¦ Packaging
This oneās a bit nerdy, but super important for making sure that your games get to you in pristine condition.Ā The packaging of the games is excellent; weāve upgraded the protection even further with a higher density foam in place of corner protectors, and Gamelandās drop tests show thatĀ the packages are able to stand up to some serious punishment, as you can see in the video below! Ā
š¬ Keeping You in the Loop
Weāll keep you updated as to the progress of production and fulfilment viaĀ mini-updatesĀ over the coming weeks, and weāll provide ship tracking information as soon as games are loaded onto boats.
Also coming up in a future update will be a backer request ā Pate askedĀ āā¦Can we get an example on what different builds (melee, ranged, magic, summoner?) might look like in different phases of the game? Equipment, armor and notable items and action cards for each playstyle would be interestingā¦ā. We think this is a great idea; weāre currently putting it together so keep your eyes peeled over the next few weeks.
š Thank You!Ā
Thank you so much for your support and for bearing with us while we navigate these final hurdles; we canāt wait for you to experience Terraria: The Board Game!
Until next time, Terrarians!
